Family Violence Prevention Legal Service – (AFLS WA) –  is seeking expressions of interest for the roles of Social Support Officer

 

Social Support Officer – Geraldton and Kalgoorlie

 

This service is a not for profit (PBI) organisation that assists families impacted by family and domestic violence.

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced and qualified Social Support (workers) Officers who are interested in being part of the AFLS team in our small regional offices.  As an AFLS Social Support Officer, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive case management and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander clients within remote and local communities.

Essential Selection Criteria includes:

  • Trained in trauma informed practice
  • Bachelor of Social Work degree or equivalent
  • Ability to interact with Aboriginal people in remote and rural communities
  • Demonstrate case management experience for one on one support to clients
  • Have an understanding of family/domestic violence and sexual assault
  • Able to travel on outreach to remote communities
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Have good communication and computer skills
  • Work in a team environment
  • Ability to work within a legal service
